PROGRAM 1 — SUMMER EMPOWERMENT EXPERIENCE
The GEMS Summer Experience gives teen girls in Orangeburg County 4 weeks of intensive, hands-on programming in financial literacy, confidence building, professional etiquette, and goal setting — delivered in a warm, nurturing environment that celebrates who they already are while equipping them for who they are becoming. Girls leave with a certificate of completion, a personal résumé or bio, career connections, and an invitation to continue their journey in GLA.
PROGRAM 2 — GEMS Leadership Academy
The GEMS Leadership Academy is our year-round leadership academy. Members meet monthly through virtual check-ins, gather for four quarterly in-person events, participate in community service, and have access to mentorship and professional development opportunities that prepare them for college, careers, and civic life. After one full year, girls become eligible for the GLA Ambassador Program — earning a leadership credential that opens real doors.

Introduction to financial basics for teens covering social media scams, budgeting, saving, and teen jobs.

Goal Setting
Learning to set SMART goals for long term and short term goals for academics, personal, and extra-curricular activities.

Business & Professional Etiquette
Developing skills to professional greeting, public speaking, and making a great first impression.
Week 4
Career Exploration
Explore career paths, building goals to get there, and building connections in chosen field.
